Getting Started

Follow these steps in order. The whole process takes 30–60 minutes for a typical installation.

Steps at a glance

1. Create your account — request early access (ChillCheck is in private beta)
2. Buy the hardware — Raspberry Pi 4, ZigBee dongle, sensors, UPS
3. Flash the SD card — stock Raspberry Pi OS Lite
4. First boot & network — connect to your site's network
5. Link your hub — connect the Pi to your ChillCheck account
6. Add sensors — pair each SNZB-02LD via the local UI
7. Assign sensors to cabinets — map sensors to fridges/freezers in the dashboard
8. Set thresholds & contacts — define who gets alerted and when

Before you begin

You'll need:

• A ChillCheck account — request early access if you don't have one yet (see Create your account)
• A laptop or phone on the same network as the Pi (for initial setup)
• About 30–60 minutes

Ethernet is strongly recommended

Connect the Pi to your router via an ethernet cable if at all possible. It is more reliable than Wi-Fi and avoids most common connectivity problems. Wi-Fi can be configured later as a backup.
